Snip bits of the show: The part Selena plays is herself but not married. She is the girlfriend of Ramiro a member of the group Bronco (who also was guest staring on the show) They met at a rodeo and Ramiro steals Selena’s heart and they start dating. Ramiro asks Selena to watch the rodeo with him on the way they meet up with another band member (bronco) and the girlfriend and Selena places a bet on whos boyfriend can stay on the bull longer. Ramiro falls off the bull and Selena jumps up and runs to his side.
Then they go to a place to eat and finds out that drugs was placed in a band members drumset and the cops want to take Ramiro to jail which causes a problem because Ramiro and the band has a gig at the rodeo called ‘El Rodeo De Media Noche’ that night but in the end everything turns out right.
Behind the Scenes: Selena was suppose to only sing in this show along with the band but that didn’t happen. The director told the band to stay behind and asked Selena to come with him and he told her that she was going to have a speaking part. However though Selena y los Dinos does play a couple of songs on the show. Here is what she said about it.
“Originally, I was supposed to come out with the band singing. But it didn’t turn out that way. When we got there, they said, ‘we’ll come for you all later.” So I went with them. It struck me kind of odd. I mean, why did they leave the band there. They didn’t tell me I was actually going to be saying any lines. And they said, ‘well, you’re going to put this on.” So I said, “what am I going to do?” and they said, “your going to be doing a little acting. You’re going to say a couple of lines.” I was like, “Wait a minute. Nobody ever sent the script to memorize anything.” I was having a major cow, because I was there by myself. My father wasn’t there. Nobody was there. And I said to them, “I don’t think this is wise. I don’t know what I am doing. I’ve never acted before in my life.” And they said, “you’ll do fine. Just put the ear monitor on and repeat what the guy says.” And I was like, “Oh my God! I can’t believe this.” I was nervous. One because, I am around people who have been doing this for years and are experienced. And here I was, a nobody, coming in and actually trying to act.”
